
Mary Nichols is a member of our Board of Directors. Prior to her retirement, Mary was Chair of the California Air Resources Board from 1979-1983 and again from 2007-2021, making her the longest-serving head of the nation’s premier clean air agency. During her career, Mary has been Secretary of the California Natural Resources Agency and the Assistant Administrator of Air and Radiation at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She currently is Distinguished Visiting Fellow in the Columbia Center on Global Energy Policy; Senior Visiting Fellow at the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability; Counsel to the Emmett Center on Climate Law and Policy at UCLA Law School; and Vice Chair of the California-China Climate Institute at the University of California.
