Senior Manager, Technical Accounting

Position Overview:
The Technical Accounting Senior Manager is a critical member of the finance organization, responsible in helping lead the company’s technical accounting function, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and supporting strategic initiatives. This role involves deep technical research, policy development, financial statement preparation and review, and cross-functional collaboration on complex transactions including acquisitions, financings, and tax equity structures.
As the Technical Accounting Senior Manager, you will:
- Perform Technical accounting Functions, such as:

- Manage technical accounting and SEC research, including documenting conclusions in formal memos.
- Research, interpret, and document new accounting standards and assess their impact on the company.
- Draft position papers addressing the accounting for significant transactions (e.g., financings, joint ventures).
- Lead accounting documentation and analysis for acquisitions, divestitures, debt or equity financing transactions, and other strategic initiatives.
- Manage financial due diligence and integration related to acquisitions.
- Provide technical guidance to cross-functional departments to ensure accurate and timely accounting treatment.
- Support Policy development & compliance via:

- Managing the annual review and update of company accounting policies.
- Assisting in the preparation of new or amended accounting policies ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
- Ensure proper execution of key SOX controls and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
- Identify and implement process improvements in accounting operations.
- Perform Hypothetical Liquidation Book Value (HLBV) model functions, such as:

- Support the creation of new HLBV model builds by validating contractual terms of the partnership and coordinating the review with other teams within the finance department.
- Lead the quarterly updates to the HLBV models and prepare recurring journal entries.
- Monitor changes to the legal documents of the partnerships and identify key changes that impact the existing models.
- Comprehend and process tax equity structures and related accounting for noncontrolling interests.
- Perform Share-based Compensation accounting functions, such as:
- Maintain the share-based compensation file and provide entries to the payroll accounting team for monthly entries and reconcile the accrued share-based compensation on a quarterly basis.
- Document changes to the Long-Term Incentive Plan and ensure completeness of granted awards.
- Other Responsibilities, such as:
- Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested by senior management.
- Perform other duties as required.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- CPA preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting or technical accounting in industry.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with complex financial structures and strategic transactions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.
